Podcasting Planning- Target Audience

Our radio station is aimed at 16-30 year old.We have come to this decision on research we have done on similar radio stations. Radio one is the most similar radio to ours as it's target audience is 15-29 year old, but Radio one have recently been grilled for not playing music that meets their target audience. They have said Radio one have been appealing to an older audience instead of their typical 15-29 year olds. The majority of people who listen to radio 1 are female, but not ruling out few boys that do. 

A typical listener on our radio station would be 17, female, studying media at college, likes going to the cinema, going out with friends, watching television and listening to the radio. Our radio station will be based in chichester with a population of 23,731.
